A career as a physical therapist can be a rewarding opportunity for those who enjoy working with patients. Physical therapists typically have a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and a certificate from a state agency. Utah has two accredited colleges that offer the courses needed to apply for a certificate to be a physical therapist. The classes include anatomy, motor control and independent study electives. Internships that offer clinical experiences are also part of the coursework and offer the chance for students to apply their skills in a practical setting.
